Artist's Comments
This is a painting of working boats on the Georges River in South Sydney.
They serve the fishermen who go out to fish all night outside Botany Bay in the Tasman Sea. I love these little boats, they have so much character that shows that they have been working very hard. Every time I visit, these boats are in a different confuguration and make an abstract pattern on the water. Reflections and ripples fascinate me, I love to recreate the feeling of cast shadows and the play of light on the ripples and textured sand in the shallow water. The painting is acrylic on stretched canvas. Freda's website, click here: [link] |
